On Monday, August 12th, midfielder Luis Argudo visited the 5-to-8-year-old age group at the Boys and Girls Club of Milo-Grogan as part of the Get a Kick Out of Reading Challenge.
During his visit, Luis interacted with the students and staff and spent time promoting the importance of reading and education. After reading “Dino-Soccer”, Luis answered questions from the group and spent time posing for photos and signing Crew SC mini balls for each child. This event is a part of Columbus Crew SC’s Give Forward initiative, presented by MAPFRE Insurance.
Between August 1 and August 31, 2019, Columbus Crew SC supporters ages 0-17, are encouraged to read for 360 minutes (that’s the length of one soccer match a week!) in order to complete the Get a Kick Out of Reading Challenge. Readers have the option to read on their own or be read to, the choice is theirs! Kids and teens who successfully complete the Get a Kick Out of Reading Challenge, will receive one complimentary ticket to the Sept. 29 Crew SC Match vs. Philadelphia Union and have the opportunity to meet Crew SC midfielder Luis Argudo following the match.
