Columbus Crew SC Goalkeeper Zack Steffenhas been nominated for the Allstate Goalkeeper of the Year award, alongside 20 fellow MLS goalkeepers.
This season, Steffen marked a new single-season career-high for clean sheets, registering 10 shutouts — tied for second-most in the League. Steffen has played 28 games this season for Crew SC (all starts) and has registered 66 saves. Additionally, the 23-year-old has recorded multiple personal and Club milestones, including a 525-minute shutout streak — the longest in Crew SC history and the eighth longest in MLS history.
Steffen signed with Columbus Crew SC as a Discovery Signing on July 22, 2016. Since then, Steffen has registered a total of 164 regular-season saves while holding a 27-22-13 record when playing for the club.
Players, technical staffers (technical directors, GMs, and coaches) and a select group of national and regional media began the voting process on Monday, Oct. 15, and the award finalists will be announced on Oct. 31.
