COLUMBUS – The Columbus Crew today announced that goalkeeper Brad Stuver has been loaned to USL-PRO side Wilmington Hammerheads FC for the remainder of the 2014 USL-PRO campaign. Per Major League Soccer and club policy, further terms of the loan were not disclosed.
“This is a good opportunity for Brad to gain valuable minutes and match experience to continue on his developmental path,” said Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter.
Stuver has not made an appearance during the 2014 MLS season. While on-loan with the Dayton Dutch Lions, he missed time beginning in June with a left ankle arthroscopy, but previously started in two Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup matches for Dayton.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper was drafted in the Second Round, 32nd overall, by the Montreal Impact in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft. He spent 2013 as an MLS pool goalkeeper and made appearances in gameday rosters for the Crew, New England Revolution, Real Salt Lake and Chivas USA.
